The Traverse City Triathlon is now Virtual!

We've made the tough decision to change this year's race to a virtual event. If you're a currently registered participant, you've got a few options to choose from. Please make your choice by July 8. After that date all undecided folks will be automatically transfered into the virtual race.

Here Are Your Options:

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply complete the triathlon or duathlon distance on your own, wherever and whenever you want, and report your results - we’ll send you detailed instructions on how to handle this.  No access to a place to swim?  We can switch you easily to the duathlon.

**If you choose this option, we'll email to confirm what event you want to transfer to.**

Your options are:

*NEW* The Endurance Evolution Backyard Ultra - July 11, 2020
*NEW* The Lake Michigan Ride - June-October 2020
Sleeping Bear Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K - October 3, 2020

Visit to learn more about the races.

If you choose to another race and the price is higher, we won't charge you the extra difference.  Likewise, if the race is less expensive, partial refunds won't be given. It's a straight transfer to the other event.

We will transfer your registration to the 2021 race.  Race date is stil to be confirmed, but will likely be late July.

The Traverse City Triathlon

Dividing West and East Grand Traverse Bay, Old Mission Peninsula offers stunning scenery and a challenging landscape. The Olympic- and sprint-distance races start in the calm, clean waters of Bowers Harbor on West Grand Traverse Bay for a loop swim. The bike courses point athletes past picturesque orchards and vineyards and over a few tough climbs. Heading out on the run, racers follow Neahtawanta Road along the water before turning up a dirt road into the Pyatt Nature Preserve. Athletes then return to the pavement for the final stretch to the finish line at Bowers Harbor Park. The Traverse City Triathlon delivers a beautiful course, professional race management, and great racing; this is Northern Michigan’s most memorable triathlon. See you at the start line!

RaceJoy is a live tracking app that allows you to track your race and have friends and family cheer you on while your racing.  You need to carry your phone with you, and as such, the swim portion of the triathlons won't be tracked.
